Weather in April
Peak of the long rainy season. Heavy afternoon and evening showers, sometimes lasting several hours. Mornings can still be partly clear. Cooler temperatures overall.
Trail Conditions
Very muddy and slippery. April has the most challenging trail conditions. Deep mud, stream crossings, and slippery slopes. Porter hire is essential. Bring waterproof boots and gaiters.

If you do not mind mud and rain, April offers the most intimate gorilla trekking experience possible. With only 2–4 people in your group, you feel like the gorillas' only visitors. The forest sounds incredible in the rain.
