Our Story

Misty Gorilla Expeditions Ltd is a locally owned Uganda travel company based in Buhoma village, right at the entrance to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. We are not a middleman or booking platform — we are the team that actually drives you, walks with you and knows every park ranger by name.

We organize gorilla trekking, wildlife safaris across all 10 national parks, private airport transfers and cultural community experiences. Every trip is planned individually — no copy-paste itineraries, no group buses, no outsourced guides. When you book with us, Duncan picks you up at the airport himself.

As a partner of Hope on the Road (hopeontheroad.org), we are committed to responsible tourism that directly benefits the communities around Bwindi. Part of every booking supports local schools, orphanages and community projects in Buhoma.

Meet Duncan Tayebwa

Duncan is the heart of Misty Gorilla Expeditions. Born and raised in the Bwindi region, he brings years of experience as a driver, guide and local travel organizer. His deep knowledge of Uganda's roads, parks and communities ensures that every guest receives a safe, personal and unforgettable experience.

For Duncan, travel is about connection — between people, places and stories. He takes pride in showing visitors the Uganda he knows and loves, from the misty trails of Bwindi to the wildlife-rich plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park.
