- This is your first gorilla trek — Bwindi is the standard, proven choice
When to Choose Mgahinga
- You want to combine gorillas with golden monkey tracking (unique to Mgahinga)
- You want to hike a Virunga volcano (Mount Sabyinyo is spectacular)
- You prefer more open, less dense forest terrain
- You are coming from or going to Rwanda (Mgahinga is near the border)
- You have already done Bwindi and want a different experience
